Founded PCTEL in 1994 and served as President & CEO till the company successfully completed IPO in 1999. Continued serving as CEO & Chairman till February 2001 then resigned to start Silicon Data. Currently still a Board Director in PCTEL. Mr. Chen built PCTEL from the ground up to a US$100 millions dollar public company averaging over 50% CAGR. PCTEL was honored by Silicon Business Journal as the fastest growing private company in Silicon Valley in 1998 and by Electronics Business Journal as the fastest growing private Electronics Company in US in 1999; and then in 2000, selected by Deloitte & Touche as the #2 fastest growing company in Silicon Valley and the #7 in North America.

Prior to founding PCTEL Mr. Chen was co-founder and Vice President of Engineering for Digicom Systems. He was responsible for manufacture operations and modem Digital Signal Processing development from 1987 to 1994. Mr. Chen received his BS degree in Control Engineering from Chiao Tung University in 1977 and MS in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University in 1983. He was elected as Model of Oversea Chinese Youth Entrepreneur of Year 2000 by China Youth Career Development Association. Mr. Chen also holds 2 US patents.
